Photography ain't easy but with the characteristic and historic city centre your chance of shooting a fair amount of good pictures is extant. The city itself has a about 300.000 inhabitants but the ancient buildings along the canals are still standing strong. Wandering around and getting lost is highly recommended and, because of it's small surface every bit can be done on foot (though biking is fun to).
